TGIF at @JugnooMe – Fun Friday Green-Eyed Monster Edition

vacationover TGIF at @JugnooMe Fun Friday Green Eyed Monster Edition

I have returned, gentle readers, and it’s great to be back. However, I am currently experiencing the most unsympathetic of afflictions: jet lag.

Oh yes, jet lag: where your head feels permanently filled with cotton balls and you’re stuck with a thousand-yard stare, only to have your ‘friends’ look upon you with disdain.

After all, you just got back from vacation! You are lucky to suffer from jet lag!

Which brings me to the theme of this week’s TGIF: jealousy.*

Objects of Envy: Meet the ‘Power of Unpopular’ Winners!

If you want a consultant that tells you what you want to hear, and encourages you to follow the crowd, then Erika Napoletano, otherwise known as ‘Redhead Writing’, is not the one for you.

For everyone else, this funny, frank marketing and communications specialist has been a beacon of honesty (and awesome!) amidst all the online spin. Needless to say, all of us here at Jugnoo are big fans – and based on the response to her guest blog last week, it looks like you are, too!

Of course, for those of you who offered your opinion – no matter how popular it may have been – there was an opportunity to win a copy of Erika’s new book, ‘The Power of Unpopular’. Congratulations are in order for the lucky winners – Craig McBreen, owner of McBreen Design and a branding expert, and Ryan Lee Cox, digital marketing consultant and founder of Cox Consulting!

Normally, I’d suggest that you follow them on Twitter, or stop by their blogs and give them a digital pat on the back… but wouldn’t that surge in popularity be a little antithetical? Hm?

As you read this, Craig and Ryan, your books are currently working their way through the postal service to make into your eager hands. Consider us officially jealous.Congratulations once again, lucky commenters!

Ticket to Ride: Meet the Jugnoomobile

Envy alert: if you weren’t already a deep shade of emerald over Craig and Ryan’s good fortune, get ready to adopt that hue when you gaze upon our founder and CEO Aamir’s newly customized ride.

Yes, if there’s one thing sweeter than being able to zip through the streets of Toronto in a classic, cherry-red Ferrari, it’s zipping through the streets of Toronto in a completely Jugnoo-ified cherry red Ferrari!

This is the part where I make a reference to JugnooMe accelerating your online experience on all six cylinders… or it would be, if I understood more about this car other than how completely awesome it looks. I’m sure there are some eagle-eyed readers out there who will be able to fill me in! icon smile TGIF at @JugnooMe Fun Friday Green Eyed Monster Edition

Now, as far as I’m concerned, the only question is what does a Community Manager have to do get the keys? I only need to make a trip to Ikea. I’ll be right back.

Social Mix 2012: Meet Team Jugnoo… and Some Other Guys

Faithful readers, in case you didn’t already realize, everyone here is buzzing about Social Mix 2012! Can you blame us?

We have been getting ready – packing swag bags, sharing developments with our partners The Remix Project, coordinating last-minute details with the Fairmont Royal York Hotel, and preparing to bring our attendees the ultimate in single-day social media conference quality.

Is that a viable category? I feel like it could be.

I, for one, am lucky enough to be the emcee for our inaugural event. You read right – me, your humble Community Manager, will be sharing the stage with the likes of Gary Vee, Amber Mac and Gini Dietrich.

As if getting to share an office with Danny Brown and Hessie Jones wasn’t enough to throw most social media enthusiasts into a frenzy of jealousy! I assure you that their being my direct supervisors have nothing to do with that statement.

Let me tell you, I speak on behalf of the entirety of Team Jugnoo when I say we’re all really looking forward to the opportunity to meet you… especially you. Don’t deny us the chance! If you haven’t already got your tickets, you really should. I promise you’ll be the envy of all your friends.

And finally, before I bid you adieu for another week, I would be remiss if I forgot to extend an invitation to our inaugural tweet chat – #SCRMchat – next Tuesday, July 24th at 1:00 pm EST.

Join Danny Brown and Julie Tyios as they field your questions about social CRM while asking their own – next week, they’ll be talking about the definition of social CRM, and why it’s so important for businesses to consider going social. Don’t miss it!

*Disclaimer: no one at work has given yours truly flak for either jet lag, or vacationing. They really just wanted to know what I bought them.

  1. Hi Helen,

Thank you for the mention! Most appreciated and am looking forward to getting the book, since I am a fan of the redhead. Loving the overall content of the blog so far too.

Have fun emceeing the big event! Wish I was there to meet everyone. Maybe one day I’ll actually get to meet Danny and Gini in person … ;)

@Craig McBreen We’re looking forward to reading your review after you’ve finished it, too! Erika’s insights on branding, marketing and motivation are always so fresh and funny – you’re one lucky guy, Craig!

As for Social Mix, it’s too bad you can’t join us. It’s going to be a great day, but rest assured: I’ll be reporting from the front lines whenever I’m not trying very carefully to avoid tripping across the stage, accidentally breathing into the mic, and forgetting my introductions, so it might feel as if you’re there with us. Without the awesome snacks.

    • Danny Brown says:

@Craig McBreen Don’t make that too big a priority, mate. Truth be told, in person ginidietrich steals your wallet when you’re not looking, has a way of butting into all conversations, and takes all the finger food from the buffet.
