To ensure conversation and creativity is flowing at all times, our office is set up with large tables and very few walls. Therefore when you feel the need to hide for 2 minutes to gather your thoughts – you can’t! And we love it.
The office set up has created a close-knit team, which we wouldn’t trade for cubicles, quiet and dress codes.
Considering the above, when walking through the office you will notice a lot of headphones occupying the eardrums of many Jugnoo employees. They might be watching Sophia Grace and Rosie YouTube videos but we’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that they are creating a productive space for themselves to fully concentrate and get their work done.
We decided to take note of the musical interludes that help drive the creativity of some of our hard working team members.
Musical Melodies
- Timothy Bramble, our project manager, picked Beastie Boys’ Fight for Your Right to Party as his theme song. Wrapped up in sadness after the untimely death of MCA, Timothy has worked twice as hard to reserve his fundamental right to party (even on school nights). Two good things come out of this selection. Firstly, Timothy is of legal age so he can party without breaking laws and, secondly, he proves to be extremely productive throughout his working days. Therefore Beastie Boys are the perfect group to inspire Timothy during his 9-5’s.
- Local Native’s Sun Hands has taken the top spot on our marketing maven Arsheya Rauf’s iTunes Playlist. Why you ask? Arsheya loves the sun because it reminds her of surfing (she is a massive surf nut), and her hands help her press play to hear her tunes. This song motivates her to get the job done just like riding a big wave. If her work is any indication of her surfing, then she should be starring in Blue Crush 2.
- Tabitha Aquino, our Director, Product Marketing, has Drake’s Motto on repeat in her ears. She turns to Drake as a constant source of motivation. As a native Torontonian, Tabitha relates to Drake because they grew up in the same city- the similarities end there but there is room for extrapolation. They’re both nice to look at, talented and are fond of high school (Tabitha in the form of charity work. Drake as an actor on Degrassi. Maybe too far of an extrapolation?). The twinsie bond keeps her going all day long and for that we can Thank Drake Later.
NOTE: Someone’s head phone jack was accidentally pulled from their computer and Justin Bieber’s Boyfriend began blaring throughout the office. We will get to the bottom of this – stay tuned to find out who’s working alongside this teen sensation’s whispery vocals.
Video of the Week
So now you know that music is the driving force behind the workaholics here at Jugnoo, but it is also used to reach people who seem unreachable. It is always a great feeling when you have your iPod on shuffle and a song from your glory days comes on.
One could only speculate how terrible it would be to be deprived of musical stimulation. Then imagine how you would feel when you finally heard it again! Check the video below to see what we mean:
Myth Buster
Myth: The average person swallows 8 spiders a year while sleeping.
Fact or Fiction? Fiction - you can rest assured that the chance of you swallowing any spiders is extremely unlikely. But not impossible! Spiders do not like wet places. They descend from high places and would have to land in your throat and avoid your highly sensitive tongue. It hasn’t been scientifically proven because it is that unlikely. But it hasn’t been scientifically disproven either so if you have a tendency to sleep with your mouth open- beware!
Myth: “Luke, I am your Father” is one of the most memorable phrases from the Star Wars series.
Fact or Fiction? Fiction - the line is actually never said in that form or fashion. The script is as follows:
Darth Vader: Obi-Wan never told you what happened to your father.
Luke Skywalker: He told me enough! He told me you killed him!
Darth Vader: No. I am your father.
Know of any other myths that need busting? Send them our way and we will try to get to the bottom of them.
After reading this, we hope you have a new appreciation for music either as a tool for motivation or rehabilitation. And now you can share the above myths at your dinner parties! Have a good weekend.
Make sure you check back next week as Jugnoo is constantly evolving and comical situations are always arising!

Come off it, Cat. We all know it was you playing ‘Boyfriend’!
@HelenAndrolia … or was it? Wait until next week to find out. But chances are you are right and it was me.
haha pretty funny good read
@brynflewelling Thanks Bryn!
Yeah, that Beastie Boys song is cool but also Walk This Way or Surfin Safari are. Just the first two that come to my mind.

It seems that there at Jugnoo you have a pretty cool atmosphere right? Which is very good. And the myths busting things is simply great. I have a couple, or a bit more suggestions:
Google makes no evil
FaceBook cares about privacy
FaceBook IPO won’t be a bubble
AdSense makes webmasters rich
AdWords works for Advertisers
Google plus is useful
Social search is reliable
You can become rich with a blog
Danny likes Klout
I can think of some more if needed. Thanks for such a lovely post.
@Andrea T. H. W. Thanks for reading Andrea! Those are some great myths you came up with. I can see a new segment called Myth Buster- Social Media Edition already.
