Why YOU Should Attend Social Mix 2012: Reason #3 – @GiniDietrich and @GeoffLiving

Image 264x300 Why YOU Should Attend Social Mix 2012: Reason #3 – @GiniDietrich and @GeoffLivingThis week we’re featuring some of the amazing speakers we have lined up for our upcoming Social Mix conference.

Already, we’ve shared our keynote speakers Gary Vaynerchuk and Amber Mac.

Now, if these two industry leaders aren’t reason enough to attend, let us introduce you to Marketing in the Round co-authors Gini Dietrich and Geoff Livingston, and why you should attend their talk.

Gini Dietrich

If you’re in marketing or PR, you probably know Gini Dietrich.

And if you don’t, you really should.

Gini is a passionate PR and marketing pro who’s made a splash in the industry as the “anti-spin doctor.” Her blog, Spin Sucks, just made it onto the Cision list of the Top 10 Most Influential Marketing and PR blogs, and is also on the Social Media Examiner Top 10 Social Media blogs list, as well as in the AdAge Power 150.

She delivers numerous keynotes, panel discussions, coaching sessions, and workshops across North America and Europe on the subject of using online technology in communication, marketing, sales, and HR.

Experienced with more than 100 keynotes, workshops, panel discussions, and coaching sessions, Gini has spoken for audiences from 20 to 1,000. Not a professional speaker, but business owner and communicator, the content is practical, actionable, and results-driven (i.e. she teaches you how to improve your revenue through digital efforts).

And she always wears a mean power suit – don’t ask her to wear jeans!

Geoff Livingston

If you need marketing advice, Geoff Livingston is the person to call.  He’s an author, international speaker, and award-winning marketing strategist who helps businesses develop phenomenal marketing programs.

But Geoff is more than just your typical marketing strategist—he focuses on social good efforts like Twive and Receive.

Geoff has advised organizations both large and small—ranging from the United Way of America to Ford, Google, Proctor and Gamble, and Razoo, too—on how to use social media for social good.

Geoff organized the first Give to the Max Day: Greater Washington in 2011, an event that raised $2 million for more than 1000 nonprofits using online media tools.

He also started and sold social media boutique Livingston Communications (2009). He was won awards from the Society of New communications Research, the American Marketing Association, the International Association of Business Communicators, as well as an Axiom Award for his book Now Is Gone.

He’s also a very dedicated family man, as can be seen by the lovely photos of him and his daughter Soleil on Geoff’s Facebook and Instagram accounts.

In a word, Geoff is awesome.

Why We’re Excited About Gini and Geoff

As you can see from each person’s individual description, Geoff and Gini are business thought leaders and powerhouses – so their fit for Social Mix 2012 and our audience is perfect.

Yet they’re both very “human” business people, and know what it takes to build from nothing and create something successful and sustainable.

Tie that into their involving presentations, and the fact that social good and making change runs through both of them, and we’re really looking forward to sharing Geoff and Gini’s insights with you. Roll on July 26!

Social Mix 2012 - and your chance to see Geoff and Gini in person – is happening July 26th. Early bird pricing is still on, but only for another week. Get your tickets now!

I know who wrote this sentence: “And she always wears a mean power suit – don’t ask her to wear jeans!” Hint: It wasn’t Julie.

I’d like to defend myself…I’m wearing jeans as I type this comment. I just don’t believe in wearing jeans on stage!

We’re really looking forward to seeing you guys next month!

  2. HowieSPM says:

Oh my you have stand up talent!  @ginidietrich makes Whitney Cummings seem like a catholic school girl. And @geoffliving was on that Comedy Central Charlie Sheen roast. I am definitely coming to this. Is there a 2 drink minimum?

I have been following their careers a long time. I remember when Geoff opened for Sam Kinison back in the day. He stole the show. Sam got so drunk then punched him in the dressing room. I read that in People Magazine. And Gini from her Vegas Club years had a huge following always a top drawer at the Sands.

       @HowieSPM  You’re insane.

    • geoffliving says:

@HowieSPM This is actually an ironically close to truth comment. I used to wait tables at the DC Improv at nights when I had my first job, and met many comedians.  Some were awesome, some were assholes. Richard Lewis was always in character.  Chris Rock was awesome. And Bill Maher made my colleagues cry he was so mean.

@HowieSPM  @ginidietrich  @geoffliving Speaking of standup, I think we might have some in store for the conference compliments of our community manager and SoMix host, Helen. Brace yourselves! ;)  helenandrolia

  4. DannyBrown says:

@GiniDietrich @GeoffLiving And as Gini can’t wear jodphurs, there’s also a No Straw Mumu rule in place. #SoMix2012

  5. geoffliving says:

Ha, thanks, I appreciate the kind remarks. So does Soleil, she’s the best. And she wears jeans on stage ;)
