@LennoxLewis Wants to Know: “What makes you a champion?”

LL retouch 1 @LennoxLewis Wants to Know: What makes you a champion? He is one of the most accomplished boxers of our time.

I still remember Lennox Lewis when he represented Team Canada and won a gold medal at the 1988 Seoul Olympics.

He was only an amateur then. Can you believe it!

After that Lennox Lewis went on to win 41 matches in his career– 32 by knockout!

He truly was one of the greatest boxers, his name mentioned alongside some of the most notable and prolific.

Along with Muhammad Ali and Evander Holyfield before him, Lewis is one of three boxers in history to have won the heavyweight championship three times.

But Lennox Lewis is more than an accomplished athlete, he is truly a caring human being. He has supported many causes in his career, including AIDS & HIV, Cancer, Health, Human Rights, Hunger, Philanthropy, not to mention his hero, Muhammad Ali’s Parkinson Center.

Today, The Lennox Lewis Foundation seeks to improve the lives of children and families who are disadvantaged. His focus is to provide them the inspiration to be socially self-sufficient, and socially responsible. It empowers these same individuals to give back to their communities and help others achieve as well, for the betterment of the community at large.

It was for this reason that Jugnoo decided to partner with a very similar organization: The Remix Project.

Similar to Lennox Lewis, The Remix Project is committed to helping youth succeed in an increasingly complex society, where communication is more technology driven, and (because of access – or lack thereof) can hinder the development of youth if we let it.

Like Lennox, we believe in the youth of today.

That is why we are proud to launch, in collaboration with Lennox Lewis and The Remix Project – the #WhyImAChamp Campaign.

“I’m very happy and excited to partner with Jugnoo and The Remix Project on this program that helps people recognize the inner champion within themselves. No matter who you are or what you do, it’s likely that a champion resides within. We want the kids to understand that whether it’s doing well in school, helping your family or community out, or making it through some very difficult situation in life, these are all the qualities of a champion. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing all of the submissions and what they come up with.” Lennox Lewis

Inspired by Lennox Lewis, and on the heels of the London Olympics 2012, this important campaign seeks an answer to this question: “What makes you a champion?” Watch this kick-off video featuring Lennox Lewis.
