Behind every great product, there is always some kind of revenue model.
One of the avenues we’ve been testing to keep JugnooMe free of cost to all users involves partnering with ad display companies. These companies use channels on the JugnooMe dashboard and on our toolbar plugin to display contextual ads to generate revenue. We’ve been testing several different ad platforms to see which would be the best fit for us and you, our customers.
As of today, it would appear that some of these platforms are clearly not right as we are having some issues with the content, and as a result some very misguided ads may be served up from time to time. While some of these ads may appear to be a joke, others may be viewed as highly inappropriate.
We are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible for all of our customers. We apologize for any inconvenience (or nervous laughs) that may be caused in the meantime–rest assured, we’re on it!
We will ensure that this issue continues to be monitored proactively so that our customers are not affected by these strangely errant ad servers. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at julie@jugnoo.com.
So far, it only seems to be affecting our portals behind-the-scenes, and not our forward-facing social media plugin.
However, if you have concerns and need help deactivating your social media plugin for now (which lets you use our social media toolbar on your site, where an ad may appear), you can also contact our Support Team here.
We will update once this issue has been resolved.
All the best, and our sincere apologies again.

UPDATE SATURDAY APRIL 21: The issue should be resolved now. Again, our sincere apologies and thanks for your understanding – have an awesome weekend!

This is why you guys rock.
@KenMueller Thanks, Ken. So far, it looks like it’s only affecting the portal side where our users access our toolset, and not on the public-facing social media toolbar.
We’re continuing to monitor it and will make sure everyone’s kept up-to-date with what we find!
@DannyBrown I think it actually is on the toolbar. I’ve seen it on a few other blogs, not just mine. But I appreciate you guys and have a good feeling about what you’re doing.
@KenMueller Dang – thanks, Ken. If you see any again, could you screen grab and email our way? Thanks again, sir, appreciate your support and help!
Isn’t it annoying that it’s so difficult to find a reliable partner to make some bucks? AdSense is out as it’s, unless you’re into games and technology, 90 percent of times unrelevant, so useless. It pays pennies and they can throw you out at will. I’ve heard voices that they threw out people because their websites could, I mean could, get fraudolent clicks. They throw out people because there is the chance of something, Minority Report style. This is really crazy, isn’t it? It seems G wants really to throw itself out of business.

Other networks are either too small or require a too big audience to join, or require sales instead of views or clicks. Or they are worse than Adsense.
But just in case you find a reliable partner as ethic as you are could you give me their name? So I’ll be able to drop mine.
Or once JugnooMe is established you could make your own. Something like what has been done with CrankyAds. Every blogger would appreciate.
Happy weekend!
@Andrea H. | The Hypnotism Weekly Ha, to be fair, Andrea, in this case I think it was more a case of poor targeting – thankfully we managed to contain it before it got too out of hand, and our development team seems to have located the issue. We’re finalizing testing now and then should be good to go again.
Have a great weekend yourself!
Hi,
I decided to try out Jugnoo but once I discovered it was serving ads (on my otherwise ad-free website), I disabled it. Unlike those who would prefer to keep Jugnoo free, I would much prefer a paid ad-free option. Just my thoughts though.
@LeoDiMilo Hi Leo, thanks for your comments. We listen to all our users and from people who have heard about our service. You’ll be happy to hear that we WILL be offering our service with paid ad-free as one of the options. This is exciting news and we want people to use Jugnoo and get real value from our service. Please see @DannyBrown ’s blog for information on this: http://dannybrown.me/2012/04/19/jugnoome-social-media-dashboard/. Please
@LeoDiMilo Hi Leo. Thanks for your comments. We listen to all our users as well as our prospective ones. You’ll be pleased to hear that we WILL be offering our services with a paid ad-free option. We want to ensure everyone receives value from Jugnoo and we look to our users to help us craft that value. Please reference @DannyBrown ’s blog for details on this. http://dannybrown.me/2012/04/19/jugnoome-social-media-dashboard/
@LeoDiMilo Hi Leo,
Sorry to hear that, mate. As @hessiejones mentions, there will definitely be options for no ads on the toolbar in the next scheduled update. In the meantime, you can actually use all the tools within the dashboard – Twitter feed, socia search, Facebook promotions, sentiment, etc – without the need to install the toolbar on your site.
Hopefully this helps, and as julietyios mentions in her post, we’re always listening to feedback so please feel free to reach out at any time.
Thanks again, and hope you have an awesome weekend!
